The Two Reasons Behind United’s Controversial Decision To Step Back From £100m Move Are Revealed

Manchester United have opted against making Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho their number one transfer target for two key reasons, according to the Mirror.

Journalist Neil Moxley reports that the Red Devils have now made Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish their priority. This is due to the fact that  United are “losing cash at a rate of knots” during the global health crisis, while the club feel they do have other options in the first-team squad even if they don’t sign Sancho.

Dortmund are said to be holding out for £100m and they are not believed to be prepared to compromise on their valuation. The Bundesliga club are also reportedly happy to keep the player for another season which makes a deal difficult to complete.

Whether that stance will change in the coming weeks, we shall have to wait and see. United are hot favourites to sign Sancho with Chelsea all but out of the race with the London club having made a move for Timo Werner instead.
