Zidane may not suit Manchester United concedes former Real Madrid president

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has hinted Zinedine Zidane might not be suited to managing Manchester United.

Zidane left Madrid at the end of last season, and is favourite to succeed Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford as uncertainty over the Portuguese boss’ future continues to mount.

Zidane won three consecutive Champions League titles – a feat un-matched in European football history – during his tenure with Madrid, as well as the La Liga title in 2016/17.

Despite his credentials however, Calderon has hinted the big differences between the Spanish and English leagues may mean Zidane may not suit United as well as many think.

“Zidane? He’s proven to be a very successful coach too,” Calderon told talkSPORT. “No other coach has won three Champions League’s in a row.

“I don’t know, they are different leagues, different competitions, different style of playing football.

“The Premier league is completely different to any other league and very different to the Spanish La Liga.”
