“You Couldn’t Say No” Gary Neville Claims United Should Jump At The Chance To Secure 48 Year Old Manager

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville would be on the board with Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel becoming the next permanent Manchester United manager.

Due to the ownership situation at the Blues, the 48-year-old’s future is clouded in uncertainty and, if he does become available at any point, Neville says the Red Devils shouldn’t let the opportunity pass them by:

“You couldn’t say no if you got Thomas Tuchel but I’m not sure he’ll leave Chelsea – maybe he would.”

When asked specifically whether Tuchel would be a better choice than either Mauricio Pochettino or Erik ten Hag, Neville replied:

“Well, he’s the most certain at the moment I would say, with the fact he’s got recent success in the Champions League and Club World Cup. I thought they were very unlucky not to beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, to be honest, the chances they had were unbelievable. So I would be happy with him. And I think he’s done brilliantly the last few weeks handling difficult questions, difficult situation at Chelsea, all the stuff that’s been going on.”

Reports have suggested that United have registered an interest in Tuchel but the odds on him moving to Old Trafford at the end of the season are pretty low.

The German has committed himself to staying with Chelsea until the summer, and it’s probable that Chelsea will have new owners well before then. With that being the case, it seems very unlikely that he will consider managing another club in the Premier League.
