“You Can Never Say 1000%” Bundesliga Star Drops Hint As He Addresses United And Liverpool Transfer Rumours

Hoffenheim midfielder Christoph Baumgartner won’t rule out a move this summer but he is pretty certain that he will stay at his current club.

Both Manchester United and Liverpool have been mentioned as potential suitors in recent months, and asked about a potential switch to the Premier League, Baumgartner said it was nice to be linked, but he is focused on playing for Hoffenheim:

“It is, of course, better if there are positive rumours instead of negative ones,” he told them. But I feel very comfortable here and can develop well here. In football, you can never say 1000 percent of what happens within a few months – but I am very happy here and see a great opportunity here to develop myself and the team. Last year, I slipped into a role that I really like and that I can use to develop personally. I want to hold on to that and want to keep pushing the gas with the team so that we can play a good season and attack again at the top.”

Untied first looked at Baumgartner during the January transfer window, when it was reported that he would cost around £16m, but his value has skyrocketed since then after a strong season in the Bundesliga.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is very keen on signing a central midfielder before the transfer window closes, and Baumgartner is almost certainly on the club’s list of targets.

The Austrian international’s comments do suggest, though, he won’t be moving teams anytime soon. Other names, such as Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez and Wolves’ Ruben Neves have also been considered so we shall see who the club will go after in the coming weeks.
