Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is convinced that he is better than David De Gea and wants to be handed a chance of being the club’s number one, according to reports in England.
It is also believed that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will consider keeping Henderson, who has been linked with Chelsea, for the start of next season in order to see whether he has what it takes to be first choice.
Fans on Twitter have been debating whether Henderson’s overconfidence could be his downfall:
Feels he is better than de gea? wow no shortage of confidence. I feel I'm better looking than David Beckham ?

Dean is a great goalkeeper, his best is no where near David, tho David has been inconsistent recently but Dean is not at the level where he should start for us, but people will say something else cuz he is academy graduate

That is the least expected out of Henderson. I mean, every player should think himself to be better than his competitor or else he has already lost half the battle

Fair enough, top mentality from Deano but playing for Manchester United is very different to playing for Sheffield United.

Listened to Peter Schmeicel yesterday when he talked about De Gea and Henderson. He certainly dsnt think Dean is ready for Man Utd`s number 1 shirt.

Not in DDG class . If Henderson believes his own PR then he’s in deep trouble in his career path

There is no doubt that Henderson is having a better season than De Gea. However, there are a lot of other factors in play.
Will Henderson be able to keep up his form over a number of years? Can he handle the pressure of playing for United, and how will he deal with the scrutiny when he makes his first mistake?
If he does truly believe he is better than De Gea, then he certainly has the ego but he will need to show he can back that up with consistent performances.
