Would This £100million Duo Get Manchester The Premier League Title?

Manchester United will probably continue investing massively in players despite having one of the most expensive lots on the planet. The trophy drought is affecting the club’s image and is getting fans more and more impatient. Even if things have been going well during the past couple of weeks, LVG is still expected to bring in new players as soon as the transfer window opens. If rumors are true, he might get the chance to sign two of the best players in the world.

According to the BBC, none other than Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos have handed in their transfer requests. The collaboration with Zidane is not one they fancy. Add to that the fact that the Portuguese superstar is getting booed and is constantly unhappy with the way his team mates perform and you get why he might want to leave. Manchester United look like the only club Ronaldo would play for. Ramos might consider other options but given the fact that Spain is off limits, where better to go than Old Trafford? It`s the only club that has the same feel as Real Madrid. It has history, it has the fans, the stadium and not to mention the funds. If rumors are right, the two would end up costing LVG around £115million. Are they really worth that much though? There are a lot of things you can do with that kind of money especially when building a lot with players like Martial, Depay, Lingard or Rashford.

There are at least three options for Manchester to consider instead of blowing money on Ronaldo who would destabilize a decent locker room atmosphere. Just think what would happen if the Portuguese star would start making faces when Rashford scored instead of him. Ramos would be worth the effort but he is Real Madrid’s captain. His personality would probably clash with that of Wayne Rooney.

Here are three options to consider within the same price range:

  1. Radja Nainggolan – CM – (£25million); Mats Hummels – CB – (£30million); Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – CF – (£40million).
  1. Paul Pogba – CM – (£55million); John Stones – CB – (£30million); Michy Batshuayi – CF – (£15million);
  1. Marco Verratti – CM – (£35million); Aymeric Laporte – CB – (£20million); Mauro Icardi – CF – (£25million)
