Would Signing Mandzukic Be Enough To Replace Falcao And RVP?

Would Signing Mandzukic Be Enough To Replace Falcao And RVP?

Manchester United need to bring in at least one big name to lead the attack. With RVP apparently having one foot out the door and with the only viable solution for a true number 9 being Javier Hernandez of the players currently signed, LVG needs to move fast and secure at least one other striker. According to ESPN, Mario Mandzukic has just been moved to the top of the list despite never being previously seen as being in the same league as players like Cavani, Benzema, Suarez or Monaco’s Radamel Falcao. For some reason, Van Gaal is more interested in the Croatian rather than in PSG’s Edinson Cavani who could be the perfect fit for the team. Mandzukic is desperate to play in the Premier League, he has the experience and he is a highly efficient striker. Money should not be an issue especially as at the last price he was sold for – a quite reasonable £18million Mandzuckic costs less than half of what the Uruguayan was bought for.

One reason for which LVG would be interested in the Croatian 29 year old is because he is quite a clinical finisher. He is the type of striker who gets the job done in any way possible. He is not the most spectacular goal scorer in the world and he is not a leading type meaning he will not be stepping on anyone’s toes if he comes to Old Trafford. Even so, Manchester United should go all in and pursue the likes of Benzema, Ibrahimovic or Cavani in order to have the team fight for the Premier League and the Champions League next year.
