‘Would Be Perfect’ ‘Impossible’ Fans React As Young Recommends Player Who Would Be An “Unbelievable Signing” For United

Aston Villa and former Manchester United player Ashley Young believes Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti would be a great addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

The Italian international ran the show midweek when PSG saw off Manchester City, and Young thinks he possesses similar traits to ex-teammate Michael Carrick, who is the type of player the Red Devils are badly missing:

“The Michael Carrick type has been missing for years. They haven’t gone out and replaced Michael Carrick. Don’t get me wrong – Fred and McTominay are good players but I don’t think there’s a Michael Carrick around. I was watching the PSG v City game yesterday and I think Marco Verratti is the closest one and nobody’s gone out to test the water to try to sign him. I think he would be an unbelievable signing for Manchester United.”

Supporters on Twitter would welcome the signing of Verratti but most believe that he would not be interested in switching the Parc des Princes for Old Trafford:

Veratti has actually been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with Chelsea having been mentioned as a potential destination, but most believe that the 28-year-old won’t be leaving PSG anytime soon.

The Italian is a key player for the Ligue One side, having spent the last nine years in the French capital since being picked up from Pescara for €12m.
