Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico is now the fourth player from the Eredivisie club that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is keen on signing, according to reports in the UK.
Ten Hag has already targeted Jurrien Timber, Lisandro Martinez and Antony, and it appears Tagliafico could also be the subject of a bid from the Red Devils this summer.
While a few supporters on Twitter do think that Tagliafico would be a good signing, most fear that ten Hag is trying to recruit as many of his former players as possible:

Why don’t we purchase the Ajax club instead. 🙄

Very poor strategy then, why should we go for Ajax players? Lazy scouting

The reported interest in Tagliafico is certainly surprising. While he has been linked with Chelsea in the past, the only clubs who have been mentioned as potential suitors this summer are Brighton and Real Sociedad.
It is not as though United are in desperate need of a left-back anyway, with both Luke Shaw and Alex Telles at the club. If they were to recruit Martinez too, the defender is also a capable fullback, so it is slightly perplexing why Tagliafico is being considered too.
Perhaps if Arsenal do beat ten Hag’s side to Martinez then they may refocus their efforts on his Argentinian compatriot.
