Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez has put up a picture on Instagram of himself alongside his long-time beautiful girlfriend, Muri López Benítez.
Martinez has been sensational for Manchester United this season. He has proven himself as one of the elite defenders in the league, showing he is in the same class as Arsenal’s William Saliba, Chelsea’s Thiago Silva, Newcastle’s Sven Botman, Manchester City’s Ruben Dias and Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk.
The photo shows Martinez alongside Benitez at the bottom of a stairwell. The pair have reportedly been in a relationship since 2012 – meaning that they have been together for over a decade.
While they have yet to tie the knot and get married, their love for each other seems apparent – based on this photo, at least.
For the Instagram post’s caption, Martinez wrote [translated from Spanish]: “It’s not where but with whom.”
Currently, the post has just under 430,000 likes on Instagram. It has been liked by a few of Martinez’s United teammates, including Donny Van De Beek and Casemiro. The Argentinian has plenty of followers on the site – at the time of writing, his number of followers exceeds 4,300,000.
Additionally, Benitez herself left a comment on the picture. She wrote [translated from Spanish]: “I love you my love.”
He was snapped up in the summer by former Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag. At first, there were concerns surrounding his relatively diminutive height, but he has put any fears surrounding this to rest with consistently strong performances since the season began.
