World Cup winner REJECTED summer move to Manchester United

World Cup winner Lucas Hernandez rejected the chance to move to Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

The Atletico Madrid defender enjoyed a fine last season in La Liga, and again impressed for France as they lifted the World Cup during the summer.

The flying full-back’s performances in Russia caught the eye of United, who according to Spanish outlet Marca, tabled an astonishing £80 million offer for the Frenchman, as well as the offer to double his wages.


However such an offer as unable to tempt Hernandez away from the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, with the 22-year-old insistent he wanted to remain with Atletico.

Hernandez signed a new contract with Atleti’ in 2017 that would keep him at the club until 2022, saying at the time: “I am very happy to renew with the club of my life.”

Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid were all also thought to be keen on the defender.
