Wolves V Manchester United – Team News, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

After a pretty nervy win in his first game in charge as permanent manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need an improved performance when Manchester United face Wolverhampton Wanderers this evening just a couple of weeks on from United getting knocked out of the FA Cup by the Midlands club.

It’s true that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side may have other priorities with their FA Cup semi-final clash against Watford on Sunday, but they will still provide a stern test.

Even though it has only been a couple of weeks since Wolves defeated United in the FA Cup at home by a 2-1 scoreline, this game will provide a different test and Solskjaer will certainly be keen to put that result right.

The Norwegian currently has four players on the injury list. Eric Bailly is currently out with a concussion, while Alexis Sanchez (knee) and Matteo Darmian (knock) remained sidelined.

Captain Antonio Valencia is not yet fit enough to make a first-team appearance following a calf strain, but Solskjaer expects Anthony Martial to be ready to face Wolves.

The forward had to be taken off against Watford at the weekend after sustaining a heavy knock but the Frenchman is fit and Romelu Lukaku surprisingly has also been declared fit to return to first-team action. Victor Lindelof will also be back in contention after compassionate leave.

The bookmakers have United down as favourites to get the win this evening. You can get offers on the best value bets from Spin Sport where United are evens to come away with the three points at Molineux. A draw is 5/2 while the bookies are offering 59/20 for a Wolves victory this evening.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Wolves:

De Gea, Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, Herrera, Matic, Pogba, Rashford, Lukaku, Martial

Wolves Predicted XI:

Patricio, Doherty, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Jonny, Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota

For Wolves, defender Ryan Bennett will be back in the squad after missing the last two games due to suspension. The Midlands club don’t have any injury concerns so United will need a good performance to get a result and all 3 points vs the Premier League’s surprise package.

Predicted Score – 1-1
