Williams In, Young Out And No Pogba: United’s Predicted XI To Face Manchester City

Barring a short spell after Spurs equalised on Wednesday night, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have been happy with how his team performed. It is, therefore, likely that he won’t make many changes for the derby.

One slight alteration may come in defence. Ashley Young’s lack of mobility against either Riyad Mahrez or Bernardo Silva may well be an issue so either Brandon Williams or Luke Shaw could come in for the game at the Etihad.

Other than that, the defence should stay as it is with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire making up the rest of the back four.

With Paul Pogba unlikely to be fit to start on Saturday evening, Solskjaer may continue with the midfield trio that performed well against Tottenham, with Fred and Scott McTominay playing in behind Jesse Lingard.

Anthony Martial’s absence means there aren’t many options to change things in the front three. Daniel James, Mason Greenwood and the superb Marcus Rashford could be given the nod once again.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Manchester City:

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams, McTominay, Lingard, Fred, James, Greenwood, Rashford
