Will Marcus Rashford’s Chances Decrease With The Arrival Of Alexis Sanchez?

Fans reacted harshly to Marcus Rashford’s recent drop in form which was quite visible again this weekend. Even though everyone could see he was trying his best, something was just not working.

Quite an unfortunate time for Rashford to be out of form now that Alexis Sanchez is joining the club, Martial is performing brilliantly and Lukaku has scored 17 goals and provided 6 assists in 33 games already.

Even though Rashford was developed by United and only knows English football, negative reactions were still directed towards him, reactions most likely caused by a history of young players who got lost along the way. Two of the best examples are Anderson and Zaha who everyone saw as the club’s future. They then went on to become some of United’s biggest disappointments.

What makes things worse for Rashford is that he has serious competition already, plus Alexis Sanchez will be joining the club imminently as long as there are no last minute hitches so continuing in the same poor vein of form will push him further down the pecking order.

Mourinho will likely continue to give him chances but there’s not much time for experiments right now.

United are on Manchester City’s tale in the PL, they have a strong chance of getting the FA Cup and are favorites to move to the next stage of the Champions League.

If Rashford doesn’t get his business together, he will not have endless chances to redeem himself and avoid possibly being loaned to a lesser Premier League rival.

Some time ago, the 20-year-old was praised for his strong character so let’s hope tweets like those below will not affect him too much:

On the other hand, there are people who acknowledge that Rashford is young and needs some time to go through situations like these to truly become great. He has the talent and the potential to become Manchester United’s next star despite all the top players acquired in the transfer market that surround him. Hopefully comments like the tweets below will raise his spirits and get him back on track:

Unlike Anderson or Wilfred Zaha, Marcus Rashford seems to have all the support he needs to continue growing and Jose Mourinho trusts him so it’s quite certain the United boss will not give up on him and will help him reach his potential.
