RB Leipzig have not received an offer from Manchester United for Josko Gvardiol, with the Red Devils “unlikely” to table one in the future, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Reports in the French media at the weekend had suggested that Erik ten Hag’s side had made a €95m (£81.5m) bid, with Chelsea and Manchester City also battling for the Croatian’s signature.
However, after Romano’s comments, fans on Twitter agree that a move for Gvardiol would not have made a lot of sense:
Why would we buy another left-footed centre back for >80m?
He would expect to be a starter, as well.

Yeah! It seems unlikely because Ten Hag already had the best left-footed CB in his squad

I guarantee that’s not true

As many supporters have pointed out, in addition to the amount it would cost to sign Gvardiol, United have already paid a sizeable sum for a left-sided centre-half in the past few months.
With Lisandro Martinez in the squad, there isn’t really a reason for the Red Devils to go after Gvardiol, who is also left-footed. It looks as if Romano has put this transfer rumour firmly to bed.
