Manchester United will be without a doubt major players on the transfer market this summer. With things finally settling in at Old Trafford, it is time to bring in the last couple of players to fortify the squad. It will be an interesting transfer window as several young and very promising names have emerged during this season. The Devils got it right with Martial and also managed to involve players like Rashford and Lingard in the first team. That means someone at United has a great eye for talent. With that in mind let’s take a look at who could represent an upgrade for the club and could also represent the future of Manchester United.
According to Metro, Manchester’s scouts have been flying to Italy on a regular basis. There`s a lot of talent there but apparently but LVG would like to focus on Inter for now. Regardless of the rumors, we will make a list of who could/should move to Old Trafford. We’ll consider the player’s profile and also their age.
- Jeison Murillo (23) – Strong Center Back with excellent intuition. He’s a hard tackler and has good ball control. He might be a bit short for the Premier League even though 1.82m is not too shabby. He is similar in style and abilities to Sergio Ramos which at some point was on United’s list. The problem is that Rojo and Blind are playing on a similar position so there would be little room for Inter’s center back.
- Marcelo Brozovic (23) – A player with so much character for his age. He looks like a leader on the pitch, a leader who is not afraid to take chances. He excels in scoring from outside the box and he often retreats to help the defense. If you were to compare him to someone, Scholes would be your best match. He would make a pretty good couple down the midfield with both Schneiderlin and Fellaini.
- Mauro Icardi (23) – Inter’s captain at such a young age. This guy would upgrade the fighting spirit on Old Trafford. He looks like the perfect replacement for Rooney. Moving to Manchester United would be a step up right now as Inter have little to no chance of actually becoming what they once were pretty soon. Icardi would fit right in between Lingard and Martial. He would also have to fight Rashford for a place in the team which would surely make the two become even better with time.
These three players would definitely help United. Brozovic and Icardi would bring something new to the table and would surely handle the rigors of the Premier League. In just 3-4 months we will find out if any of them are really on United’s list although at least one of them should be.
