Which Transfers Will United Make Over The Summer?

It`s a bit difficult to predict what will happen this summer when it comes to transfers. Will LVG bring in expensive players and sell some of the ones who cost Manchester a lot and did not really deliver? Will he continue to play youngsters to build a team that will shine in 4-5 years from now? Or will he focus on the trophies and get his hands on experienced and efficient players who are out of contract? The last option goes well with the second option because it could allow youngsters to evolve while not risking another trophy deprived season.

Option No.1 – If United decides it`s time for another overhaul and that this summer will be the summer when the club starts over then LVG’s attention should be directed towards at least one of these players.

  1. Romelu Lukaku – young, experienced, efficient, strong and acquainted to the Premier League. Even though he already played for Chelsea and Everton, it would not be a massive surprise to see him at Old Trafford. He is expensive but he is worth the money.
  2. John Stones – another young and very promising defender who is already one of the most expensive Center Backs in the world. According to Metro, Chelsea will no longer try and transfer him thus leaving United as favorites to secure his services.
  3. Miralem Pjanic – he would bring creativeness to the midfield. This 25-year-old who is under contract with Roma until 2018 would be an amazing link between Mata and Schneiderlin or Fellaini.

Option No.2 – It would be the dream scenario to have more than 5 players under 21 on the same pitch. It would be even better to see them fight for the Premier League title. It`s more than possible if LVG brings at least two young talents next to Martial, Rashford, Depay, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Januzaj and Pereira.

  1. Renato Sanches – according to Metro, this 18-year-old has been a revelation for Benfica. He has been on United’s list for a while. His recent actions might point towards a transfer. The youngster might have given away his future destination after starting following the Devils on Instagram.
  2. Youri Tielemans – currently the most expensive Belgium International under 19, this midfielder is the player to watch. He has already made 122 appearances for Anderlecht after starting his pro career at the age of 16.

Option No.3 – As mentioned, this would go great with option number 2. This way you get the chance to win trophies while still being able to sign youngsters and give them a chance to both play and grow next to major names in football.

  1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – without a doubt, next to Feghouli, the Sweden international will be one of the most sought after players out there. He will be leaving PSG and a season at Old Trafford would be the perfect way to end his career. Zlatan has scored and impressive number of goals this season and would be the perfect transfer to make.
  2. Steve Mandanda – regardless of what will happen to De Gea, this French keeper is a steal. He is 30 years of age, he has brilliant reflexes and he would provide much more confidence than Romero.
  3. Gregory van der Wiel – brilliant full-back with amazing crossing skills. He is fast, experienced and will cost nothing as he is free as of June 2016.

So some very intertesting possibilities – remains to be seen what the direction is that LVG and the Board decide to go in but after an up and down season there is reason enough to feel fairly optimistic about the next campaign.
