Man United welcome Lyon to Old Trafford for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday night.
The Red Devils failed to take a lead into the second leg as they conceded a late equaliser to make it 2-2 in the opening leg. A mistake from Andre Onana led to the goal, forcing Ruben Amorim to drop him at the weekend.
In their last game, United lost 4-1 to Newcastle in what was a poor outing which has put a lot of pressure on the United boss as they will finish on their lowest points tally in their Premier League history. They play against a Lyon side who won 3-1 against Auxerre in their last game.
United could be without seven players for the game against Lyon due to injury with Martinez, Diallo, Heaven, Collyer and Evans ruled out. Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs De Ligt are both being assessed ahead of the game. Click here to see Man United’s predicted lineup for the game on Thursday night.
Lyon will miss two players for the game as Ernest Nuamah and Malick Fofana have both been ruled out with ACL and knee injuries respectively.
Amorim’s United backed to book semi-final place
The Red Devils have been in poor form recently, but they do still have a shot to win a piece of silverware, and in turn qualify for the Champions League next season which would be a huge boost to the club. They have been made favourites by the bookmakers against Lyon.
