Man United turn their attention away from the Premier League this weekend as they face a Friday night FA Cup match against Leicester City.
The Red Devils lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace in their last match, in which Jean-Phillipe Mateta scored both of the Eagles’ goals at Old Trafford.
It left Ruben Amorim‘s side 13th in the Premier League table, and having won just one of their last three league games. They return to welcome Leicester and former interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy to Old Trafford on Friday.
Man United continue their defence of the FA Cup after they beat Arsenal on penalties in the third round, in what was a strong performance away from home.
However, Amorim will be without defender Lisandro Martinez, who suffered a serious knee injury during the defeat to Palace. He will undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the season which comes as a big blow. Click here to see our predicted XI for Man United on Friday night.
They face a Leicester side who have won just one of their last four matches. They come off a brutal 4-0 defeat to Everton last weekend, which left Van Nistelrooy’s side 18th in the Premier League table, two points from safety.
Man United made strong favourites against Van Nistelrooy’s Foxes
The Red Devils have the better squad on paper, and despite a poor run of form under Amorim, the bookmakers have them as heavy favourites at home against Leicester.
According to Oddschecker, Man United are 34/100 favourites to win the game, which gives them a 74.6% chance to win the game.
Meanwhile, Leicester are backed at 8/1 to win, giving them a 11.1% chance to win, and a draw is backed at odds of 19/4 (17.4%). We predict a 3-1 win for Amorim’s side who have the chance to progress to the fifth round.
