Manchester United have made some brilliant transfers up until now but at what price? After signing Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger, LVG is now left with a tough decision. What will happen with Marouane Fellaini? It is very obvious that the three cannot be featured together in the same team as they will seriously step on each other’s toes. The Belgian was in amazing shape last season and grew immensely under Van Gaal’s guidance. Unfortunately, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger are too expensive and too good to be left on the bench. According to the Telegraph Fellaini will also have a lot to lose because of his three game ban which will not allow him to start playing until the middle of September.

It is very difficult to tell how things will look for Fellaini who will also have to handle competition from Daley Blind and Michael Carrick who are definitely going to be pushing for a spot in the starting eleven. It is true that competition does lead to improvement but in the Belgian’s case it might lead to his departure. It would not be the first time he is packing up his bags since moving to Old Trafford. In the pre LVG era, everyone wanted him gone as he was considered one of Manchester’s biggest transfer flops next to Falcao.

Fellaini’s future does not look too bright when in relation with Manchester United. Even though he is under contract until 2018 he could be leaving in the autumn unless he maintains his superb form from the 2nd part of last season. He is valued at about £12million which is almost half of what Everton got back in 2013 but LVG would be a fool to let him go when he is such a versatile operator who can play anywhere in the midfield and has shown he can even play as a striker. To let the Belgian go at any price would be a huge mistake and it is one which I don’t think LVG will make..
