Manchester United are likely to offer Marcus Rashford a new five-year contract, according to reports in the English media.
The England international has had a good start to the season, having scored three goals in his last four games, but it wasn’t that long ago that he was struggling badly to recover his best form.
Supporters on Twitter fear that the Red Devils are being too hasty in trying to tie down Rashford on a longer-term deal:
We never learn

He’s had 2 good games come on why’s everyone acting like he’s playing at his best already let’s see what he can do against teams that sit back first

They should calm down about this contract thing abeg..
That was how they gave him £250k a week after a few sparkling form.
Contracts shouldn't be issued out because of a one game "sparkling performance".
The club should wait till January before handing him a mew contract.— SmoothStead💫🔝 (@Steadfast_Emma) September 8, 2022
So long as they don't increase his current wage because he doesn't deserve an increment. He's already earning too much per week for the performances he's been giving us.

Our club shouldn’t reward these players just because they started the season well!

It's too early to me. Maybe some 3 months from now .

Don't offer him anything until at least halfway through the season. A sparkling performance at the start of the season doesn't prove anything yet. Give a new contract as a reward if we have achieved something this season. #MUFC

They should not do that. He’s had few good games and that doesn’t mean it’s time to review his contract. He needs to be consistent and show us he can keep this up

This club will never change.

While it is true that Rashford’s current contract expires at the end of the season, United do have an option to extend his stay for another year so there is no need to rush into talks with the player.
There is no doubt that the forward’s displays have improved markedly since last campaign, when he only managed to score five goals in total, but it would be wise to wait and see how he performs in the coming months before deciding on whether to give him fresh terms.
