‘We Need An Out And Out Striker NOW’ ‘Sign A Decent No. 9’ Fans Worried About Who United Are Targeting To Replace Ronaldo

Manchester United will reportedly pursue PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo when the transfer window reopens.

The Dutchman usually plays as a winger and it seems as if the Red Devils won’t be looking to replace Cristiano Ronaldo directly.

While Gakpo has been prolific in front of goal this season, having scored 13 times in all competitions, many fans on Twitter would prefer that the club prefer a traditional number nine:

It’s a difficult situation. Most of the best strikers won’t be available in January so United would run the risk of overpaying for a player who wouldn’t necessarily be part of the team’s long term plans.

Gakpo, on the other hand, is someone who is already attracting the interest of big clubs. Arsenal and Liverpool are said to be keen on the Dutchman, so it would make sense to bring him to Old Trafford in January if a deal can be done.
