‘Way Better Deal Than Rabiot’ ‘He’s The German McTominay’ United Fans React To Sky Reporter’s Transfer Claim

Manchester United are “monitoring” Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

The Bundesliga champions’ interest in West Ham captain Declan Rice has raised questions about the German international’s future, leading to the Red Devils taking an interest in the player. However, Plettenberg claims that Goretzka would like to remain at the Allianz Arena:

Even if Goretzka was interested in making the switch to Manchester, though, there are plenty of fans on Twitter who would be against the transfer:

Goreztka has not had a great season for Bayern

The 28-year-old scored just three goals and provided two assists in 27 league appearances, which is a very poor return for a player who plays in central midfield for the dominant team in Germany.

It should be pointed out that Goreztka also missed a large part of the 2021/22 campaign due to a hip injury so it hasn’t really been a great couple of years for the player.

There are better alternatives on the transfer market

If you look at the other midfielders that United have been linked with recently, most of them would appear to be better choices.

Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone, as well as Declan Rice, have all been suggested as options over the last month and they all seemingly have more upsides to them than Goretzka.

Especially considering the Bayern star is more interested in staying with his current team, you would hope that United move on to alternatives pretty quickly.
