WATCH: Solskjaer Praises 19 Year Old After Starring In United’s Win Against Brighton

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer singled out left-back Brandon Williams for praise after the win against Brighton yesterday.

The 19-year-old replaced Ashley Young in the side due to the club captain’s suspension, and the teenager was one of the standout performers on the day as the Red Devils clinched a comfortable 3-1 victory.

Solskjaer was thrilled with both Williams and United’s display in general when he was interviewed after the match:

Williams is certainly making a case for himself to start on a more regular basis. He has made four starts this campaign but the game yesterday was his full Premier League debut.

Whether he has done enough to convince Solskjaer that he merits inclusion ahead of Young, we shall have to wait and see. With Luke Shaw also expected to return from a hamstring injury after the international break, there is now some competition for places at left-back and it will be interesting to see who the manager favours in the coming months.
