Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has been blasted by Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson in hilarious fashion after his shambles of a performance against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The Swede cost United upwards of £31m in the summer, and has had a tough start to life so far in Manchester.

It was his first Premier League appearance and unfortunately it did not go well for him or United.

The Red Devils were defeated 2-1 by the Terriers in what was their first loss of the season. Goals from Aaron Mooy and Laurent Depoitre downed Mourinho’s men in the first half, and substitute Victor Lindelof’s introduction certainly made life a lot easier for David Wagner’s side.

This performance certainly won’t have helped his cause.

Former player turned pundit Paul Merson was watching the game as part of Soccer Saturday, and at full time he slammed the 23-year-old defender.

“Jones went off which was a shame, shame for England as well because he was playing well,” he said.

“And then the lad Lindelof came on, wow. If you watched the other lad, Schindler, on the other team, you’d take him all day long.”

“If you came down from the moon and you were watching that, if you did and you looked and you said afterwards, talking like an alien because you lived on the moon, you would have said he was outstanding.”
