Varane And Greenwood To Start, Rashford On The Bench: United’s Predicted XI To Take On Newcastle

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that every first-team player, bar Paul Pogba, has returned to training ahead of the game against Newcastle on Monday night.

It has been a very challenging start to life at Old Trafford for Rangnick but he says this week has been “extremely positive” as he looks to implement his ideas on the training pitch.

With regards to the team that will face the Magpies, David De Gea is expected to start in goal with the returning Raphael Varane likely to partner captain Harry Maguire in the middle of defence.

Despite Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw having recovered from recent fitness problems, Rangnick may keep faith with Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles in the fullback positions.

Fred and Scott McTominay are expected to hold the fort in the middle of the park, with both Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho being deployed in the roaming no.10 roles once again. Mason Greenwood could get the nod ahead of Marcus Rashford to partner Cristiano Ronaldo up front.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Newcastle:

De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Telles, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Sancho, Greenwood, Ronaldo
