Utd’s Highly Touted Midfielder With Famous Father Leaves On Loan

Man Utd’s highly touted midfielder with famous father leaves on loan – yes Charlie Savage (son of Robbie Savage), is set to join League One outfit Forest Green Rovers on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season.

He is the son of former Manchester United, Leicester City and Derby County midfielder, Robbie Savage. According to the BBC, Savage chose to join Forest Green amid interest from several other clubs in the EFL.

While Savage is a talented midfielder with bundles of energy, United boss Erik Ten Hag has decided that he will not feature in the Red Devils’ first team this season. With the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes all in good form, it isn’t difficult to see how fierce the competition for places in midfield is at the moment.

While Savage has yet to make his United first team debut, he has been having a good season for their U21s. He’s made 13 appearances in the Premier League 2 this season, scoring one goal. He’s also shown adaptability during his time in United’s academy, being able to play both as a central midfielder and as a defensive midfielder.

Forest Green are currently rooted to the bottom of League One, having won just five games all season. Additionally, they have just sacked their manager, Ian Burchnall – can Savage be the lynchpin to turn their fortunes around?

The League One strugglers are clearly in need of some help and they will be hoping Manchester United Academy product Charlie Savage is part of the answer to their problems. It is the opportunity for the starlet to really make a difference and get valuable experience playing in meaningful games as Forest Green try and pull off the great escape.
