United’s Transfer Budget Revealed As They Look To Sign Two England Internationals

Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward has sanctioned a transfer budget of £140m for this summer, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid claims the funds will be there to finance moves for three players, including two current England internationals.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, unsurprisingly, is the name that tops United’s list of transfer targets, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also keen on signing a left-back, with Leicester’s Ben Chilwell now being seriously considered.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with Chelsea and Manchester City in recent months but it appears the Red Devils have also entered the running.

Solskjaer’s third and final summer recruit is expected to be a midfielder. Whether that will be Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, it remains uncertain. Reports yesterday claimed the Manchester club have baulked at the player’s £80m asking price.

With a reported budget of £140m, that would certainly have given United pause for thought, with the majority of that money earmarked for Sancho.
