United’s New Prospective Owner Keen To Hire Transfer Guru Who Has Been Offered 7M A Year Deal By Chelsea

Jim Ratcliffe would like to recruit Paris Saint-Germain’s football advisor Luis Campos if he succeeds with a takeover of Manchester United, according to reports in France.

There is no suggestion that the Glazers are willing to sell the Red Devils at the moment, but Ratcliffe is already sounding out individuals such as Campos who could be hired following a change of ownership.

There could, though, be difficulties in securing Campos’s services. It is believed that Chelsea are more advanced in negotiations with the 58-year-old, having offered him €8m (£7m) a year to join the Blues instead.

It is not that surprising that the Portuguese sporting director is in high demand. He built a reputation for himself at Monaco and Lille for unearthing hidden gems and making sizeable profits on players.

If Campos were to arrive at Old Trafford in the future, though, it would probably spell the end for current Director of Football John Murtough who has overseen a chaotic summer transfer window.
