United’s Hopes Of Signing Chelsea Star For Free Dashed After Latest Transfer Development

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is unlikely to join either Manchester United or Tottenham as the German international is keen on moving abroad, according to The Independent‘s Tom Kershaw.

The journalist claims that both teams “expressed an interest” in the 28-year-old but the player is more likely to join either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich if he chooses to leave Stamford Bridge next summer:

Rudiger’s contract with Chelsea expires in June, and he will be able to speak to foreign clubs in the New Year about a free transfer at the end of the season.

Kershaw claims that Real Madrid already have an “informal agreement” with the centre-back. Talks reportedly took place with Rudiger’s agent and brother Sahr Senesie last month.

Bayern are also said to have discussed terms with Senesie at a meeting last week, with both teams said to be offering much higher wages than Chelsea, who are reluctant to give Rudiger the pay rise he wants.
