United’s Dynamic Duo December Performances Earn Them PFA Awards Nominations

December saw a huge change at Old Trafford as Chief Executive Ed Woodward relieved manager Jose Mourinho of his duties on December 18th and appointed club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis until the end of the season.

United played 9 games in December and crucially only won 1 game of the 5 games Jose was in charge for and they had 2 draws and 2 losses under the Portuguese and Paul Pogba was not getting a look-in under the frustrated manager.

Once Mourinho was replaced by Ole, World Cup winner Pogba who had only played in only 1 of the 5 December United games was immediately given a more advanced role and told to express himself under Solskjaer.

Pogba responded by playing in all 3 December games under Ole and added 4 goals in the 3 wins with 2 braces.

As a result of his stunning form Paul Pogba was acknowledged for his fine play with a nomination for the PFA Awards for the month of December.

Marcus Rashford played in 3 games under Mourinho in December but has been deployed as a centre-forward under Solskjaer and the 21 year old has responded with 2 Premier League goals in the 3 wins in December plus he had scored 1 goal under Mourinho.

Rashford also added 5 assists in December showing there is plenty to his game hence he received the nomination for the PFA Awards for the month joining team-mate Pogba along with Mo Salah, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane and Ricardo Pereira.
