United youngster left confused over loan move

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is highly believed to be one of the most up and coming stars in the game. Fans who know of the player have been eager to see him get his chance on the Premier League stage, something that has been pretty non-existent.

I personally remember the winger making his Manchester United debut back in 2015 in the League Cup. He marked the occasion with a wonderful goal from a freekick. Since then chances have been few and far between, but there was a sense that this season he would be pushed into Mourinho’s first team and not sent out on loan.

As the English deadline day passed, Pereira looked set to be spending the season as a Manchester United player. The youngster even flew to his native Belgium in order to spend time with his family whilst the international fixtures resumed.

However, Valencia announced Pereira had joined them on a season-long loan the following evening, something nobody seemed to expect. Pereira himself admits he is baffled by the deal, and it looked as if the youngsters time at Old Trafford could have been over.

“I only knew that I couldn’t come to Valencia and that I had to stay at United,” he told El Desmarque.

“I had mentally prepared to stay, but in the last minutes the situation changed and I was very happy. They never explained the problems to me.”

“I was afraid it was not possible. I was in Belgium to be with my family, enjoying having three days off. But when I was told that it could be closed and that things had to be sorted quickly, I was very happy.”

Pereira said how former Valencia midfielder Juan Mata had congratulated him on his move, and that he had asked the Spaniard for advice.

“Mata spoke to me very well about Valencia,” Pereira added. “He told me that it is a great club and that it is a very good city. He also told me that the fans are very good.”

“He told me that it would be good for me to play here. Now I want to prove it on the pitch.”

Pereira has a bright future ahead of him, and despite his loan move to Valencia looking like it could be an end to his United career, the youngster signed a new contract with the Reds – meaning that there is still plenty of time for the kid to shine.
