United Weighing Up £15m January Deal For 6ft 5 Target Man

Manchester United are weighing up a move for Krylya Sovetov striker Aleksandr Sobolev, according to the Sun. The 6ft 5 forward is on a shortlist of names being looked at, alongside the likes of Juve’s Mario Mandzukic and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele.

The Russian has scored ten goals in 13 appearances for his club this season, including both goals in his team’s 2-0 win against FC Sochi yesterday.

Sobolev is said to be available for £15m, but United may have competition from Turkish club Galatasaray, who are also believed to be interested in the forward.

The 22-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Russian second division side Enisey Krasnoyarsk but he has emerged as a prolific goalscorer in the top flight this campaign.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed he is keen on signing a striker in the January transfer window and it remains to be seen whether Sobolev will emerge as the club’s top target.
