Manchester United are one of the three main contenders to sign RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano, according to reports in the German media.
Rivals Manchester City and Real Madrid are also said to have registered their interest in the France international, who will become available for a bargain price next summer.
Upamecano only signed a new contract back in July but there was a clause inserted that means he can leave if a club pays €45m (£40m) for him at the end of the season.
The likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as possible destinations for the defender recently, but it does seem as though United and City are the teams showing the most interest currently.
The Red Devils have struggled at the back this campaign, having conceded 14 goals in just seven games, and it seems Upamecano is being lined up as a potential partner for Harry Maguire.
