United ‘Very Close’ To Agreement For £67m Rated Playmaker

Manchester United are “very close” to agreeing a transfer fee for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to AS.

The Spanish newspaper reports that sources close to Lazio have told them that a fee of €75m (£67m) plus add-ons is being discussed.

Milinkovic-Savic is being eyed as Paul Pogba’s replacement, despite the fact that United have told Real Madrid that the Frenchman is not for sale.

AS say that Lazio believe Milinkovic-Savic will be on his way to Old Trafford if Real can come to an agreement with the Red Devils for Pogba.

It looks as though the Serie A star has been lined up as a precaution, and the Manchester club want to ensure there is a deal in place for a replacement midfielder with the end of the transfer window close at hand.

The deadline is just over two weeks away, and while Real can still try to sign Pogba until the end of August, United have until August 8th to bring in any recruits of their own.
