£148M Striker Admits He Owns “Chelsea And Man United” Shirts As He Reveals Desire To Make PL Move

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he does own Manchester United and Chelsea replica shirts.

Speaking on John Obi Mikel’s podcast, the Nigerian international said that he doesn’t have a preference for one Premier League team but he made it clear that he is very interested in a move to England:

“I don’t have a favourite Premier League team but I have two jerseys: Chelsea and Man United. Many friends of mine are Chelsea fans, [a] few are Man Utd fans.”

“[The] Premier League is the most appreciated league by every African player – it’s a huge league.”

Osimhen’s price tag could be an issue for United

While it appears that the forward would be willing to make the switch to Old Trafford, there is still a huge obstacle that could stop such a transfer happening.

Napoli are reportedly demanding a staggering €170m (£148m) for Osimhen, which would almost double United’s current record transfer if they were prepared to pay it.

The forward’s contract situation does offer hope to interested clubs

Osimhen’s current deal expires at the end of next season so, while Napoli won’t be pressed into selling him in January, it could be a different story in the summer.

The 24-year-old’s valuation could drop drastically over the next 6 to 8 months unless he does put pen to paper on a contract extension.

At the moment, it is not believed that Osimhen and Napoli are close to finding an agreement, which will put teams such as United and Chelsea on alert.

Of course, just because the player says he wants to join a Premier League club, it doesn’t mean it is guaranteed to happen. Real Madrid are also known to be in the market for a striker and, if they don’t sign Kylian Mbappe, an offer for Osimhen can’t be ruled out. It’s likely to be a fierce battle for the Nigerian’s services.
