Manchester United are interested in signing Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, according to The Independent.
The Blues are believed to be open to selling the 24-year-old for around £25m this summer, and Erik ten Hag’s side need to reinforce their options in the centre of defence.
However, fans on X are not particularly keen on the club recruiting Chalobah, with some citing the example of Mason Mount, who has struggled since arriving from Stamford Bridge last year:
We haven’t learnt anything about signing Chelsea Players

Chalobah is available for a reasonable price
With reports suggesting that United are restricted to a £100m net spend this summer, the club may need to get a bit creative with some of their signings.
Chalobah has shown himself to be a capable centre-half, especially this season after returning from injury. You also have to keep in mind that it’s rare for a homegrown player who is below 25 to be on the market for a rather low fee.
United may also sign another centre-back
Some of the hostility towards recruiting Chalobah is likely because some supporters are assuming he will replace Raphael Varane.
However, due to the low-cost nature of the deal, it wouldn’t stop the Red Devils from dipping back into the market and buying a more expensive, higher-profile successor for Varane.
Nice’s, Jean-Clair Todibo has hinted in recent days that he could be on the move this summer and he is a long-term target for the club.
