Ten Hag Keen To Sign Another Former Player As Journalist Confirms United Have Enquired About 21 Year Old

Manchester United have made enquiries about Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, according to journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

The Italian reporter says that the Red Devils are considering an approach for the 21-year-old, in addition to Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, but he also claims there are at least two other Premier League teams pursuing the player’s signature:

Erik ten Hag has worked with Gravenberch before, having managed him at Ajax prior to his switch to Bayern.

The United boss is making a habit of signing former players, having already recruited the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Antony and Andre Onana.

Coincidentally, if the club sign Amrabat as well, the Red Devils could have five players who have worked with ten Hag at other teams, with the Fiorentina midfielder having spent some time with the United manager at Utrecht.

Who are the other clubs pursuing Gravenberch?

Liverpool are thought to be one of the other English teams who are interested in the Dutchman, while Arsenal were also linked with the player earlier this year.

Neither side are likely to present a threat to United if they go ahead with a bid for Gravenberch as the player is believed to be keen on reuniting with ten Hag.

Could United sign him before the transfer window closes?

An approach for Gravenberch may depend on a couple of factors. Up until now, Bayern have been reluctant to sell the player so their stance will have to soften for a transfer to go ahead.

On top of that, United need to balance the books so they may have to offload both Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay in order to fund a move for the Netherlands international.
