REPORT: United Expected To Table An ‘Official Offer’ For £47M Rated Serie A Marksman ‘In The Next Few Days’

Rasmus Hojlund is a transfer target for Manchester United.

Manchester United are likely to make an “official offer” for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund “in the next few days”, according to Tutto Atalanta.

While other reports have suggested that the Serie A side could hold out for €70m (£60m), the Italian website claim the Danish international may leave if a bid of around €55m (£47m) to €60m (£51m) is tabled.

Hojlund is thought to be a priority target for United, after they wrapped up a deal to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan for an initial €51m (£44m).

Once the move for the Cameroon star has been rubberstamped, it is believed that Erik ten Hag’s side will quickly begin talks with Atalanta about signing Hojlund.

United will face competition for the player

Tutto Atalanta claim that Juventus are keen on recruiting Hojlund, but they would need to offload Dusan Vlahovic first before making an offer.

Inter Milan are also said to be weighing up a move for the 20-year-old, after having ended their interest in buying Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

However, United are the favourites to snap up Hojlund. He was a fan of the club growing up and, in an interview earlier this year, he admitted that he would find it hard to turn down a transfer to Manchester:

“I won’t hide the fact that I’m a huge Manchester United fan. So personally, it’d be one of the biggest things for me [moving to Old Trafford]. Of course, that doesn’t mean that I’d turn down other big clubs if the offers come at some point.”

Negotiations may take some time

It should be noted that Atalanta are not the easiest club to deal with. They have been known to change their asking price for players in the middle of talks so United will need to be careful that they don’t get bogged down in negotiations.

With Hojlund clearly keen on the move, and the fact that the forward has the same agent as ten Hag, it should help get a deal over the line.
