‘Should’ve Been Done Already!’ ‘We Are So Slow’ United Fans React As Romano Makes Chelsea Claim About £60M Transfer

Chelsea are currently favourites to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise ahead of Manchester United, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking on the United Stand YouTube channel, Romano said that the delay in the decision on whether to sack Erik ten Hag has handed United’s rivals the advantage in the race for Olise:

“I would say Chelsea are in prime position because they have a new manager, they have already signed a player like Tosin [Adarabioyo], they are really pushing on the market to make things happen as soon as possible…”

“Man United have not left the race, they are still there, but Chelsea are pushing a lot now… For Manchester United, to clarify the manager position is really, really important but, if you want to sit down with the player, you want to present your project, they want to know about the manager.”

Supporters on X are not particularly happy about the situation and they are calling on INEOS to make their mind up on ten Hag soon so the club doesn’t miss out on key targets like Olise:

United already know how much it will cost to sign Olise

With the Palace winger having a £60m release clause in his contract, there is no need to negotiate with his club about the fee. That is why getting the approval from the player is so important.

As Romano says, if United can’t present an attractive enough project because of the manager situation, it could lead to Chelsea winning the battle for Olise.
