Manchester United could pursue Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi if Dan Ashworth is appointed the club’s new sporting director, according to The Telegraph.
Ashworth is said to be a fan of the England international, having also targeted him during his time with the Magpies.
United fans on X are pretty sceptical about the club pursuing Guehi, with many feeling that there are better alternatives on the market:

Guehi does have other suitors
It is believed that a number of Premier League teams will consider making offers for the centre-back when the transfer window opens this summer.
The Telegraph report that Liverpool could be United’s main rivals for Guehi, but the defender’s former club Chelsea are also another potential suitor.
Who are the alternatives that United could target?
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with several centre-halves over the past six months or so. Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, Benfica’s Antonio Silva and Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba are just some of those who have been looked at.
Another new name was also mentioned over the weekend, with Bologna’s Jhon Lucumi said to be on the club’s radar. However, it does appear that, if Ashworth is confirmed as sporting director, Guehi could move to the top of the list.
