‘Get Him Asap’ ‘Do Whatever It Takes’ – Fans React As Romano Reveals Ineos Connection That May Help United Seal £77M Deal

Manchester United shareholders Ineos have an “excellent relationship” with the agent of Lille defender Leny Yoro, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Jorge Mendes represents the teenager, and Romano says it could help them land the player if they join the race for his signature:

“Leny Yoro could be a name to watch for the summer. Yoro is really one of the best talents in the world, he really is a fantastic centre-back For Lille, the idea is to keep the player until the end of the season because they feel, in the summer, there is going to be a big fight between top clubs to sign Yoro.”

“Real Madrid have been in attendance multiple times to watch Yoro. They really like this boy, so let’s see if they will be in the race this summer. For sure they are scouting the player, and also the new people in charge at Manchester United, with Ineos having an excellent relationship with Jorge Mendes.”

Fans on X are encouraged by Romano’s claim and many are hoping it will lead to Yoro making the move to Old Trafford:

Yoro won’t be available on the cheap

Romano says Lille will be demanding “crazy money” for the centre-half and that has been corroborated by other reports which say that his price tag is €90m (£77m).

With Yoro’s contract set to expire at the end of next season, though, that valuation may have to be lowered.

United will have rivals to sign the defender

As Romano mentions, Real Madrid are very keen on Yoro, but it is also believed that Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester City are keeping tabs on him.

With that being the case, any edge that United have, such as Ineos’s connection to Mendes, could prove all the more important.
