Reliable Journalist Rates Chances Of January Move As United Make Enquiry For £77M Rated French Wonderkid

Lille “wants to keep” Manchester United target Leny Yoro at the club this month, according to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins.

The journalist, who is usually quite reliable when it comes to transfer stories, claims the Red Devils, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have all made enquiries about the Frenchman’s availability, while Paris Saint-Germain have also weighed up making an offer.

However, Lille have no intention of letting Yoro go during the January transfer window, even though his valuation is likely to drop by next summer.

The 18-year-old has less than 18 months left on his contract, and Hawkins says the teenager is not expected to sign a new deal, even if Lille only propose a twelve-month extension.

Other Premier League teams have been credited with an interest in Yoro

Liverpool and Manchester City are said to be among the other clubs who could join United in the battle for the defender’s signature.

Yoro is an extremely promising young player and United would need to convince him that they are the right team to help with his development. The Red Devils have been looking at alternatives.

Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo is known to be on the club’s radar, along with the likes of Benfica’s Antonio Silva, Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio and Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

Lille’s current asking price is sky high

It was reported by another French source last month that Yoro’s asking price was a staggering €90m (£77m), but that figure is not one Lille could realistically hold out for if the centre-back refuses to extend his current deal beyond 2025.

United will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on the player’s situation with a view to making a potential bid at the end of the season. As already mentioned, though, there will be plenty of rival teams with similar intentions.
