Agent Claims United Have “Requested” Information On 28 Goal South American Ace

Manchester United have made enquiries about Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, according to agent Mario Cenolli.

The Italian doesn’t represent the Argentinian international but he claims he is aware that the Red Devils have “requested” information about the forward, in addition to the likes of Napoli pair Victor Osimhan and Kim Min-Jae:

“While United will focus on Osimhen. Since they have also signed Kim, there could be a double blow for Napoli. Information also requested for Lautaro from Manchester United.”

Martinez has been in excellent form for Inter this season, racking up 28 goals in all competitions and helping the Nerazzurri to the Champions League final.

Other clubs have also been mentioned as potential suitors for the World Cup winner, including Chelsea, but a lot may depend on whether Inter are prepared to sell up.

Martinez could be an excellent fit for United

The 25-year-old has a high work rate, in addition to being a great finisher, and you would think that he would fit in well to Erik ten Hag’s style of play.

Being able to press the opponent, as well as offering a threat in behind, are two things that United need from a number nine and Martinez does possess the attributes required.

Osimhen does seem to be the priority

Despite the interest in Martinez, Cenolli believes that Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is United’s primary target. Other reports in Italy in the last few days have backed up those claims.

The big obstacle with regards to the Nigerian international, though, is his price tag. Napoli could demand as much as €150m (£129m) which may prove too costly for the Red Devils.

A bid for Martinez could still be considered later in the transfer window if United can’t reach a deal to sign Osimhen, but shall have to wait and see.
