Manchester United are in “advanced talks” to sign Queen’s Park goalkeeper Callan McKenna, according to the Daily Record.
The Scottish newspaper claims that the Red Devils are “closing in” on securing the signature of the Scottish youth international.
It is believed that Erik ten Hag’s side will pay an initial six-figure fee for McKenna, who was also attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.
The 17-year-old has already made 9 senior appearances for Queen’s Park, 7 of which have come in the Scottish Championship and another 2 in the League Cup this season.
McKenna also made his debut for Scotland’s Under 19s back in September, as his star continues to rise.

The keeper had spells in Celtic and Hibernian’s academies as a youngster before finding a home at Queen’s Park where he has made his breakthrough at first team level.
McKenna has also previously had a trial with Leicester City but his performances have generated a lot of interest from Premier League clubs too.
United have been tracking the Scottish starlet for a while
Scouts from the Red Devils are said to have kept tabs on McKenna for quite some time and the fact that the Manchester club have pushed the boat out in order to secure his signature this month suggests they are confident they have a real gem on their hands.
In addition to the initial transfer fee, it is thought that United have agreed to pay add-ons which could take the total cost of the deal beyond the £1m mark. That is a sizeable sum for a young player who only has a handful of first-team games under his belt.
