United Trail PSG In Battle For Brazilian Star Who Could Be Available For £69m

Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as frontrunners for Philippe Coutinho, according to Goal.com.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but it is believed the former Liverpool midfielder is not keen on returning to England.

Despite living in the country for five and a half years, Coutinho and his family never really settled, and the Brazilian would rather not come back to the Premier League.

Barca are said to be prepared to take a hit on the £142m they paid Liverpool for the midfielder in January 2018.

Coutinho has failed to live up to expectations during his first full season in Spain and the La Liga leaders may allow him to leave for just €80m (£69m).

That figure wouldn’t deter potential suitors but his wages will. The 26-year-old is reportedly on £460,000 a week before tax; an amount only a few teams outside the UK could afford.

PSG are therefore the prime candidates but as things stand, they have not made any move for Coutinho.
