Manchester United are keeping tabs on Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, according to reports in the Portuguese media.

The 23-year-old has only recently signed a new deal at the Estadio do Dragao, but he does have a release clause which means he can be snapped up for €75m (£66.5m).

United’s interest in Costa is said to be dependent on David De Gea’s future. The Spaniard’s contract expires at the end of the season, but the Red Devils are reportedly willing to give him an extension as long as he takes a pay cut.

At the moment, there appears to be no movement in terms of the keeper signing on the dotted line so it isn’t entirely surprising that club scouts are still monitoring Costa.

The Portuguese international has also been linked with Chelsea over the last week or so, but his destination is likely to be dependent on who is willing to pay the buyout fee in full.
