United Told They Will Have To Pay 50M For Portuguese Star Who Is Ten Hag’s ‘No.1 Target’ Ahead Of De Jong

Manchester United will have to match Wolves’ £50m asking price if they want to sign Ruben Neves, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid claims that manager Erik ten Hag is a “big fan” of the Portuguese international and he has made the midfielder his “no.1 target.” Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong has also been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford but it appears the Red Devils are currently focusing their attentions elsewhere.

United are not the only team interested in snapping up Neves, though. Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the player but it is believed that Barcelona will be the main rival for the player’s services.

Reliable sources have suggested that Neves’s agent Jorge Mendes has already held talks with Barca about the 25-year-old making the switch to the Camp Nou.

If United do end up missing out on Neves, The Sun report that ten Hag will only then consider looking at “other options.”
