United Told Asking Price They Will Need To Match As They Join Chase For French International Striker

Manchester United have added Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea to their shortlist of targets for the summer, according to German publication Express.

The France international is reportedly “on the radar” as the Red Devils look to strengthen their forward line ahead of next season.

Plea could well be available for a relatively low price with Gladbach said to be demanding €24m (£21m) for the 27-year-old.

The Bundesliga side only paid €23m for the Frenchman in 2018, but the impact of the global health crisis means they have substantially lowered their asking price in order to bring in revenue.

Plea has mostly played as a centre-forward this season, but he can also play on the left and right wings, which would give manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer greater flexibility in attack.

The striker’s record this campaign is pretty decent, with eight goals and seven assists in 22 league appearances, although they are certainly not spectacular numbers either.
