United To Battle Everton And Arsenal For £27m Rated Serie A Stopper

Manchester United have entered the race for Torino centre-back Armando Izzo, according to reports in Italy.

The 27-year-old is also interesting the likes of Arsenal and Everton after a very good season in Serie A.

Izzo was part of a Torino side that conceded just 37 goals in 38 games last campaign, which was the fifth best defence in the division.

The Italian club finished seventh, just six points behind fourth-place Inter Milan, after losing just seven times in the league.

Torino’s president Urbano Cairo is reportedly reluctant to let Izzo leave, and will only consider bids north of €30m (£27m).

United have been tracking another Serie A defender in Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly but the Senegalese international would cost at least £100m.

Whether Izzo would be a suitable alternative, it is debatable. The Italian international has spent most of his senior career at Genoa and has never played for a top club.
